His point is irrelevant. I, and ALMOST everyone in the forum, already knows that the "other" androgens have less binding affinity for the androgen receptor than DHT. I've known this for years. And DHT beats all the other androgens to androgen receptors when the body has DHT. But if you eliminate DHT then the "other" androgens won't have to compete with DHT for receptors to bind to and so the "other" androgens will have an easy time binding to receptors.

They are all androgens. DHT is the chief androgen, but the others are androgens too. They all do the same thing once they bind to receptors: they prevent A.A. patients from getting MAXIMUM reversal of hairloss.

We need to negate all of them locally, but not throughout the body. Indeed, most of the androgens have a weak affinity for the androgen receptor, but DHT is not the only androgen with a strong affinity for the androgen receptor; testosterone also has a strong affinity for the androgen receptor, although not quite as strong as DHT. But in the absence of DHT testosterone increases dramatically, and once again, testosterone has a pretty high affinity for the androgen receptor.

Jean, I know you know a lot about a lot of stuff, but hairloss isn't one of the things you know a lot about. Will you please not encourage people who are trying to undermine my efforts to beat hairloss. There is no time for bickering anymore. There is a little hard work that needs to be done and that is all there is time for. If OSUScott is a chemist then at this present time we need him for something else besides silly debates.
