I thought i would share this interesting thread on the unique amino acid Carnosine (not carnitine). In January the Life Extension Foundation magazine had their cover story on the use of this amino acid for it's anti aging benefits which you can read at the following:

a few days ago i talked to this woman in arizona who runs a small company with unique nutritional products - after she read the LEF article they started experimenting with carnosine in a topical skin cream (which also uses alpha lipoic acid) and in testing on people she told me a story of a person who had had surgery to remove skin cancer from his face - and in five days using this all traces of scaring were completely gone. These results were unexpected as they are the first to use carnosine in a topical ingredient - so we talked about what it might mean for hair loss and of course she knows no more than when she started in experimenting with it topically - it's a completelyl new use for this but is clearly very powerful. I have the 500mg caps of carnosine on hand and have started adding one to the GSE, etc. formuala based on what has evolved based on Waseda's regime - so i am adding 500mg each night - and of course it will be a while before i can say anything definitively - and my hair loss is probably less severe than many on the forum so results may be less dramatic. SO i am posting this in case anyone feels like experimenting - and you can purchase carnosine from LEF (www.lef.org)......
