It's unfortunate that you had to hear something like that. I'm sure that person didn't realize who was listening otherwise she would have been less crass.

Comments like that are made all the time and they regard every type of person. Weight, body structure, hair, skin color, age, etc. Appearance means alot to quite a few people. There is nothing wrong with that(obviously we are all trying to get our hair back). It's kind of hard to grin and bear it when the words sting pretty deep. Keep in mind that it was only one person(or two if you count the person she was talking to), what's the population count where you live?

Also you don't know the whole story. She might think just like that. Then again, the guy that asked her out could have been a creep and it's easy to pick on the most obvious thing. Kinda like when you are mad and a comment like "THAT BALD M*THER F*%^ER @#@%#*)%#*$)" comes flying out.

Everyone grows older and eventually falls apart. It's a grim outlook but it helps when I would hear comments like the one you happened to catch.
