Well since you asked. I've spent months prowling this forum, and have finally decided to give in kind. Everybody here is great and very helpful and supportive.

I live in Vancouver B.C (that's Canada) I'm now 50 years old. I've been wearing bad rugs for 30 years. I finally decided to do it right once and for all. Many of you do not know the sad saga of the Vancouver office, but suffice to say that Richard fully intended to maintain an office here -- but the deal fell apart. There is no longer a Vancouver office.

I ordered my system in January (Sean the local rep did the cast and took the samples) and got a call in early June to let me know my two FNT's were ready -- so I think I can claim to be the Farrell customer who waited the longest to get his systems delivered. I really wanted Richard to be involved in the cut-in and was very disappointed when I was informed that he would not be coming here again. After some amicable negotiations with Dylan on the phone and Richard via e-mail it was decided that they would reduce the cost of my systems by the amount of airfare it would cost me to fly to L.A. My cost for the systems was $4000USD -- that's a lot of lucre up here when you factor in the exchange rate.

I flew down to L.A on Saturday July 21st. Richards outlet was a beehive of activity when I got there at 10:30AM. I was introduced to Jasmine (ex HCM employee) who was going to do the cut-in, she was really great throughout the whole process, but I really don't know who was more nervous -- her or me; she and I decided on a shortish style similar to Harrison Fords' look. Lo and behold I was in luck that day because Richard dropped in to chat with me after I had been there about an hour and a half. As everybody already knows, Richard is a Prince of man. He took a very critical look at my systems and what was left of my own hair, and had a strategy session with Jasmine and me in the room; he was basically providing some very specific instructions regarding a tint, wave and some additional grey hair to be added at the temples and throughout (about 5%). It was now about 1:30PM. Richard asked when my return flight was and I told him, tomorrow at 3:00PM -- he tried to reassure me that all the modifications could be done and simply said "Just hang, I'll be checking in with you" and left the room. I was thinking "Crap! They'll never get this done today -- I'm going to be stuck here till Monday" but I really didn't care because I knew I was in good hands and I wouldn't be leaving disappointed.

Dylan was very kind, and spent some time with me discussing maintenance of the systems, and the weather in Vancouver (he's an ex-BC boy).

Well, after sitting and waiting for an extended period of time while the extra work was being performed on the systems, 8 hours later Jasmine was putting the finishing touches on my new do -- and I really did not know what to think -- the makeover was startling and fantastic -- I can only say I was in shock. My new hair is about 2 1/2 inches at its longest and tapered very short down the sides and back. The texture, colour, fit and blending is perfect. By that time I figured Richard had left for the day, and was busy settling up my account, and purchasing about $125 worth of product. I gave Jasmine a very healthy tip -- she really was great. I was getting ready to leave when Richard appeared with Irene and Dylan in tow. Richard had me sit down in a chair and was looking at me with that very crtical eye - he then proceeded to demonstrate a number of different styling options I had available to me; the rest of the crew gazed on with big smiles. I am amazed at the eye for detail Richard possesses. He then took me about the facility showing me various pieces they were working on (including Guiseppes two new extra longs), all the while giving me pointers on maintenance and management of the systems. At 10:15PM they called me a cab and I was on my way. All I can say is that Farrell's crew are the best.

The acid test was when I checked into the hotel. The front desk was oblivious to my hair - it was 100% friendly eyeball contact -- I was in heaven! When I got to my room, I called my wife to relate my experience and played with my hair for about an hour. There is nothing to top the feeling of freedom and elation I experienced - it was perfect.

When I got home on an early flight Sunday my wife was thrilled with my new look -- and so was I. My exposure to people I know has been limited, because I am still in the midst of taking three weeks off work for vacation -- I return next Monday. That'll be the big one. Other people I have run into have either said nothing or given me great compliments on my new haircut.

Maintenance has been a breeze, wearing the system to bed has not been a problem -- I get up in the morning and a after few quick swipes at my hair with my Paul Mitchell (big balled) brush I look perfect. I have only swapped the system once and found the process less than arduous -- about an hour. I think shorter systems are way easier to manage. Here are a couple of humble pointers:

1. Use clips to raise the hair up off the edges of the unit before reattaching -- it makes positioning much easier and prevents you from getting glue stuck in the unit.

2. Use B-Sure dabbed on bionic tape at the back and sides of the unit and the corresponding areas of your scalp. Just prior to attaching the unit, spray the tape areas on the unit and your scalp at the sides and back with isopropyl alcohol -- this will give you approximately 1 minute to align the unit properly with the aid of a mirror for the sides and back. The glue will then set and you will have a perfect grip.

3. I use Goo Gone (available at most hardware stores in Canada) to remove excess glue from my scalp -- its great and cheap.

I know this has all been very long winded -- but in summary I would like to say that if price or quality is a concern for any of you -- nothing can help you reclaim the self-confidence you lost when your hair went down the drain as well as a Farrell designed system. Your system will never be able to replace your own growing hair -- but it comes pretty damn close -- and the Farrell crew will always be there to get you through any bad hair days you have.

Hey Richard! Can I get my commission in US green-backs? LOL

Cheers to everyone!
