>>I have been taking Finasteride for 1 month so far - noticed no symtoms as yet. If I was to stop taking Finasteride - say after a year, is it likely that I my folicles would have created more Androgen Receptors or become super sensitive to DHT though compensation?<<

Yes. In a famous recent study, Sawaya found an "intense upregulation" in the number of androgen receptors in men who had been using finasteride for only six months.

>>If yes, would this mean that folicles that would have escaped its effects because they were only getting maybe 20% DHT, now are getting 40% because of increased Androgen sensitivity die a quicker death due to having started Finasteride?<<

I think there MAY be an element of truth to that, and that's why I recommend that if you've been using finasteride for a while and you decide to go off it for whatever reason(s), TAPER OFF SLOWLY AND GRADUALLY to give your follicles a chance to "readjust" to the new conditions.

If you have access to the original huge Propecia study, check out the main graph that shows hair-counts in the finasteride users and the placebo users over that 2-year period. Look at the downward slope (the rate of hairloss, in other words) of the subjects who got the placebo for the full 2 years, and then compare that to the downward slope of the guys who got finasteride for the first year, but were then switched-over to the placebo for the second year. You'll notice that the "finasteride--->placebo" group lost hair at a FASTER rate during that second year than the group who never received the active drug at all!

If you decide to quit finasteride, don't do it "cold turkey". Gradually taper-off over a period of time. That may minimize any bad effects.
