No one knows if hair folicle enhancers will work better in combo with Dut's superior (to finasteride's) ability to reduce DHT. Yes, there was one study showing minoxidil and finasteride work synergistically, but I had lots of patients on both with no discerable difference over finasteride alone.l So we will all just have to compare notes after Dut is released. Personally, I would again recommend to you that you spend your money and efforts (at least initially) targeting DHT.
Because Bryan (disguised as To You, or the alias du jour) has already lived the lie of poopooing 5 alpha reductase inhibitors for so long, he is forced to continue to try to snow us with stuff about up and down regulation that has nothing to do with the real genetic or DHT related known causes of MPB. VEGF plays a role in hair growth, not MPB.
Use your minoxidil and retin a together. The retin a stays on your skin for awhile after application, but it is obviously easier to use them together (and there is no good reason not to).
As to retin a/minox vs lipoxidil, at this point you should be as good a judge as anyone as to whether the latter is worth the extra bucks. Dut in liposomes will probably be my choice over both of them.
Hope this helps, I got to go see some patients.
